The Dss Extractor adds reliability and simplicity to the download process. It currently works with the Olympus DS4000 and Grundig digital portables, both available from DAC. Dss Extractor runs in the background, with an icon on the taskbar. Whenever one of the portables is connected to the PC, it quickly downloads the dss files, deletes them from the device, and exports them to the path you have designated. The application was written to ultimately replace Transporter (bundled with the Voice Solutions server) and Dictation Module (bundled with the DS4000 from Olympus), addressing some of the shortcomings those two programs presented.
